Our division is responsible for the everyday anesthesiological management of patients at over 40 anaesthesia workstations and intensive medical care of 24 intensive care beds. In interdisciplinary cooperation, together with surgeons from general surgery, transplant surgery, plastic surgery and neurosurgery departments, we care for a further 32 intensive care patients.
Applying the latest medical and technological standards to treat our patients not only provides them with the highest possible level of safety but also allows us to provide excellent medical training, which we consider to be one of our main focuses at the division. This is accompanied by innovative teaching concepts for students, residents, and fellows, such as using up to seven full-scale simulators.
In addition to patient care and clinical training, clinical and experimental research is a core task. Our research priorities are available under the research section of this website. The listed research priorities allow our team members to participate in the Medical University of Vienna's innovative programmes for young researchers with a high chance of success.
I want to invite you to find out more about our activities on this website, and I am also available to answer your questions personally at any time.
